my choices are down to the jd 790 and kubota l3400 my real question on the kubota is are they reliable and trust worthy. my family owns big tractors (100 to 150 hp)and they are all john deere, but i really don't know much about the small tractors and i'm concerned if the 790 will have the power that i need because there is a 7hp diffrence and the 790 price 14,600 r4 tires and loader and kubota price 15,800 r4 tires loader and hydrostatic transmission. Need help bad.

my friend also runs john deere tractors from 60 hp to 220hp large farm. told me to buy kubota for the money great tractor and more bang for the buck. they do not run kubota because loyal john deere , and kubota only makes up to 125 hp and in the 125 class tractors it is very hard to compete ....

I looked at the 790 and 990 too. They only have 3 reverse speeds and I need to use a rear snow blower. My Ford 1910 has 4 reverse and that is marginal.

I went with the L3400 HST and I really love it. It is my first Kubota. I have a JD 355D and a Ford 1910 too. I was quickly spoiled by the HST.

I think reliabilty is pretty good on either unit. Make sure you get a good dealer. ....

I recently bought an l3400 hst with FEL and love it. The hydro makes it extremely manuverable, especially when doing loader work. Though 7hp does not seem like a lot, on a tractor in the 30 hp range, thats more than 20% more power. Though I am biased, I would say to go with the Kubota. ....

The 790 is really a Yanmar in green paint. These tractors may be assembled here now but originally they were straight from Japan. The 750 is essentially the same tractor frame with a smaller motor.
My biggest problem with the 750 was the dry brakes. I had problems keeping the brakes on it. I would ask your family what they think of the dry brakes on a tractor. I have had 2 tractor with and 2 with wet brakes and I don't believe there is any comparison. ....
